Terms and Conditions for Kypo Secure Vault
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your relationship with the Kypo Secure Vault mobile and web application (the "Service") operated by Tasso Software Studio ("us", "we", or "our").
Please read these Terms carefully before using our Service. Your access to and use of the Service is conditioned on your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms. By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you disagree with any part of the terms, you may not access the Service.
1. Description of Service
Kypo Secure Vault is a digital application designed for personal and shared data storage, including financial ledgers, shopping lists, tasks, notes, calendars, and file attachments. We use encryption to protect data. Kypo offers Personal Vaults, Family Vaults, and Group Spaces.
2. Accounts
When you create an account, you must provide information that is accurate, complete, and current. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and any Master Keys used to access the Service.
CRITICAL LIMITATION OF LIABILITY REGARDING ENCRYPTION KEYS: Kypo uses strong encryption. You are solely responsible for managing and safeguarding your encryption keys or Master Passphrase. We do not hold your key in readable form. If you set up recovery, an encrypted recovery copy is stored so that we can restore your access when you request it and prove control of your email. If you have not set up recovery, or you lose your credentials and access to your email, we cannot recover your data. You accept all risks associated with lost credentials, and Kypo shall not be liable for data loss resulting from this or any other scenario.
3. User Content
Our Service allows you to store and share information, text, graphics, and other material ("Content"). You are responsible for the Content you post. By posting Content, you grant us the right to store, replicate, process, and transmit such Content solely as necessary to provide the Service. This permission is limited, non-exclusive, and revocable. We do not claim ownership of your Content.
4. Prohibited Uses
- Violating applicable law or regulation.
- Exploiting or harming minors.
- Transmitting spam or unsolicited promotional material.
- Impersonating Tasso Software Studio, our employees, another user, or any person or entity.
5. Intellectual Property
The Service and its original content (excluding user Content), features, and functionality are the exclusive property of Tasso Software Studio and its licensors.
6. Subscriptions and Billing
Optional paid features are sold through Google Play Billing. The ad-free subscription product is kypo_ad_free (monthly auto-renewing base plan or yearly base plan). The one-time product extra_family_slot expands a family vault. Prices are shown in the Play Store at purchase time and include applicable taxes as displayed by Google.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel in the Google Play Store (Subscriptions) before renewal. Canceling turns off auto-renew. You keep ad-free access through the end of the paid period stored as subscriptionExpiresAt on your account. After that timestamp, the account returns to the free tier and ads may resume. Refunds, if any, are handled under Google Play’s refund policy. When an app store ships on another platform, its billing terms will apply to purchases made there.
We may also grant complimentary ad-free access, for example as a reward. A complimentary grant has an end date, is not a paid subscription, and may be changed or withdrawn. If a family-slot purchase is refunded or ends, that slot is removed. Members above the family vault's remaining capacity are removed after a grace period, and the family's owner is notified.
We may restore or revoke entitlements when Google Play confirms a purchase, cancellation, expiry, or revocation. Restoring a subscription after a cancel sets auto-renewing on again for the new grant.
6a. Updates and Availability
We may require you to update the app to keep using the Service, and older versions may stop working. We may put the Service into read-only mode for maintenance or security. We try to keep this brief.
7. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach the Terms.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall Tasso Software Studio be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service.
9. Disclaimer
The Service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Switzerland, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
11. Changes
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated where practicable. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
